The Best House sitter ever!

Andrea was just wonderful! I have used Housecarers several times to find someone to look after my place, first in the US and then in Portugal after I moved here in 2019. All the other times I picked a couple because I thought my rural setting in Portugal would be a challenge for a single person, expecially a single woman. Not so with Andrea. When I communicated with her by email and phone before she came, she immediately convinced me that she was a calm, capable person who would easily adjust to spending weeks in a small village in central Portugal in the winter. 

She took great care of my house, was extremely fond of my dog and got along well with my neighbors. She was always swift to communicate with me while I was away. When she ran out of the medicine my dog needs for a skin allergy, she informed me and followed through to get the medication from the vet. 

She is a delightful person, super kind and very capable. I hope she could return to house sit for me the next time I have to be away for an extended period. I would highly recommend Andrea. 

Rustic Mountain Wonderland

   The sleepy little retirement town of Riondel is situated on the Eastshore of Kootney lake. 
    My stay were days of walking beautiful Brandy early mornings, feeding the eclectic collection of fowl,then relaxing at the beach. Beginning and ending my days with insightful and nourishing conversation with my gracious host and made a lifelong friend.
    Amazing community of committed volunteers and mountains as far as you can see waiting to be explored.

Leon and Barbara were great . They did a wonderful job. Managed our young boisterous dogs and mowed lawn etc. pool was in great shape. Please give them every consideration when selecting house sitters. We loved their attitude.

Peter and Kathleen are most gracious and delightful homeowners! I arrived a couple of days early, per their request, to share meals together, get to know their community and become familiar with Suzy Q the sweet dog and Spindle and Hara, the outdoor kitties. What a lovely introduction to my stay; they made every effort to assure I was informed and equipped to enjoy the month. 

Their beautiful 25 acre property includes woods, hiking trails, (designed and mapped out by Peter) a lovely pond, main house and guest house which is available through reservation. The property is secluded, yet close to Meadows of Dan and located right of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Fall is beautiful there! 

Suzy Q, the sweet dog is indoor/outdoor. She loves to run about on the property and go along on hikes with you! She also loves riding along in the car if you please. I fell in love with her and we were best friends!

Miss Hara and Miss Spindle have a cat door into the garage, where they have their meals and treats and can get in at night. They are friendly and enjoyable. 

I so enjoyed the characteristics of the historical main house, the care of guests in the lovely guest house and the mountain community! It was a wonderful stay, with lots of great memories! If you love the mountains, hiking and are dreaming of a secluded, lovely stay with a view of the pond, this housesit could be the one!

Anna stayed at our farmhouse for over two months. She was an amazing house sitter. She kept us regularly updated with messages and photos while we were away, was calm and efficient in the face of various issues that arose (broken boiler, water leak, storm damage..) and looked after both the house and the garden beautifully. I thoroughly recommend her as a sitter.

Absolute pleasure in every aspect!

My house/pet sitting experience here was absolutely the best! Divina, my new best furry friend was a delight - quite the character with lots of energy, antics and such a love-bug! She showed me all her favorite walking paths through some of the most beautiful hills & valleys. We cuddled on the couch at night while I read and she peacefully slept. Rosalie's house is so comfortable & charming with all the modern amenities you need. The views of the sunrise were spectacular. The backyard was a perfect place to read in the sunshine listening to the nearby horses whinning, the chickens clucking, bees buzzing and birds singing....in other words, so peaceful and beautiful. The little village is quaint, quiet, safe and so friendly. Rosalie introduced me to several neighbors and friends who speak English (unfortunately my Portuguese language skills are negligible) so I never felt alone. They were so generous in sharing their bounty of fresh eggs, lemons, grapefruit and avocados, as well as their wine, coffee, tea and company. Rosalie introduced me to her weekly yoga group and I got to practice yoga outdoors in the nice weather. I had use of a car so I explored the surrounding area and could get to the market for supplies. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Rosalie and Divina, the house, her neighbors and friends. Obrigada, Rosalie!

Tina and Ken were fantastic looking after our dog and our home!

Tina and Ken graciously looked after our Aussie Shepherd for 30 days on the Oregon coast.  Every few days we received pictures of our dog and he looked happy and well taken care of.  He was exercised regularly and really enjoyed the ball retrieving multiple times per day.

Our neighbor was really impressed by the care they gave our critter.  You would be lucky to have this couple watch over your home and fur baby.

The house was immaculate when we returned, with fresh flowers on the table and all linens laundered.

We feel it was a blessing to have this couple.  We highly recommend them to anyone.  We would be more than willing to be contacted to endorse Tina and Ken.

Terry house sat for us for about 4 weeks while we were off in Europe during the fall of 2023.    She was the very first respondent to our ad and the one we chose in short order.    We live on a secluded 25 acre property out in the country just off the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We have two independent outdoor cats (Spindle & Hera) and a sweet, active dog (Suzy-Q).  We also have a Guesthouse for which we had a rental booking that needed to be managed while we were away.  Terry arrived a few days prior to our departure to get to know our household routine and to meet our friends and neighbors.    She was enthusiastic and organized in her approach.  We enjoyed getting to know her personally which reinforced our confidence in her.

We came back to our home just as we had left it with happy pets -- and glad that we had selected Terry as our house sitter.   We recommend her highly!!

Perfect pet & house sitter

Owen took great care of our scared shy kitty, and was able to bring him out of his shell. We enjoyed the videos Owen sent of him playing with our little "Bob Cat", and it was reassuring to hear that familiar loud purr.  When we arrived home, the place was spotless and so clean.  We are so grateful to Owen for his conscientious care and kind thoughtfulness! I would highly recommend him as a house & pet sitter.

This house and pet sit was a favorite of mine.  The neighborhood is safe, quiet and close to everything, along with being a great place to walk.  "Nut" or "Bob cat" is one of the most charming cats I've known.  I'm a fan!

Ping stayed at our home for 5 weeks to look after our rabbit and garden and home while we were overseas.

She came a few days early and made sure that she knew how everything worked. She made friends with the bunny and he was well looked after in our absence. She also sent us photos of the bunny while we were away.

She cooked us dinner the night before we left and on our return as we were both busy and very tired.

On our return the house was clean and tidy. All of the pot plants were well cared for and she even started a small garden of veggies for the bunny to eat. She also trained the bunny to return to the cage when called.

I would definitely recommend Ping as a good reliable housesitter.

Kumiko and Randall were wonderful cat sitters for Olive, sending my photos on occasion and generally spoiling her.  They also let me know when she started losing weight, so that I could arrange for her to be seen by the vet and treated appropriately.  Kumiko loved tending to the garden, doing the bit of weeding needed and cutting flowers for arrangements during the summer.  They were unfailingly reliable, pleasant and personable.  I would not hesitate to recommend them or to have them come back.

This was my first experience to do cat sitting and home. Michelle and Tom are a very friendly host, the place is cozy and the location very quite. I enjoyed this time of solitude and the chance to explore the neighborhood. I had a chance to visit the nearby city of Santa Cruz and the shorelines of California beaches, the town of Scotts Valley where I stayed is a small and spread out place with many local amenities close by, in January the weather was very warm and comfortable coming from northern Oregon. 

I like to repeat my experience given a change for further sits at this location, Ginger the cat would probably be even more acquainted when she sees me again. Many thanks to the host and their curtious hospitality it made me feel very welcome in their home. 

Impeccable Sitter

Luigi (Gino) took impeccable care of our home and cat during our absence. He was attentive, clean, responsible and just exceptional in every sense of the word. He is also a terrific human being.

We enjoyed getting to know Gino as well -- he is a good soul. We would not hesitate to recommend him. You will be in very good hands.

Robyn did a great job looking after all our animals!

Robyn stayed at our house in Cyprus and pet sit our animals for 2 weeks. She did a wonderful job, considering that we have quite a lot of animals, 2 senior dogs and 13 cats that we rescued from the street. We are aware that our situation is quite peculiar and that the job can be quite demanding. For this reason it was important for us to find a pet sitter that clearly understood the situation and that was good in communicating. We were a bit worried that it was too much for just one person (usually we asked for 2 people) but Robyn managed it very well. Robyn sent us regular updates and whenever there was an issue Robyn promptly reported to us and together we discussed possible solutions. All animals were in good health and well fed at our return. The house also was left clean and tidy (sometimes a challenge with so many animals!).

We had the pleasure to meet Robyn on her first 2 days at our home, and apart from all the instructions about petsitting , we had some time to have some lovely meal together and chat about travelling and other topics. 

Overall, we were very happy to have chosen Robyn and we highly reccomend her!

Sara provided very detailed information which was very helpful. A picturesque village with many old buildings and churches and walks close by.

Sara was very organised with print outs of duties which I appreciated and both Sara and Tassos were friendly and helpful with local and housesit information when I arrived.
I enjoyed exploring the old village and surrounding countryside while there & the two local shops had all I needed.  Winter is quieter than tourist season and a lot of cafes, attractions etc are closed (but there is one close by open weekends. )
I was walking & feeding two dogs twice a day ( and cleaning up after them) . Feeding 5 indoor cats twice a day ( and emptying kitty litter regularly) plus feeding 7-8 strays outside twice a day.This routine does take some time and I think it's important the sitter has realistic expectations.  
It suited me as I enjoyed the history and nature of the immediate area and the company of the inside cats and dogs .
I feel the sit is best suited to people who enjoy peace and quiet ,small village life and the company of both cats and dogs.  
There is a lot to explore in the surrounding vicinity, I had very few days with rain in January, I found I had useable outside spare time from about 10 am till 4 pm and even in January it was mainly sunny with temperatures around 14- 18 degrees during the day, then after feeding duties it was inside by the cosy fire with a book.

I had a wonderful time taking care of Misty. Diane was a great host and made sure I was comfortable in her home. Misty is a chatty kitty, but very sweet and cuddly once she warmed up to me. I enjoyed the peaceful area and quiet neighborhood and the sunsets were spectacular in the hills! Thank you, Diane, for a great experience.

SolidSoul took care of our cat Chester while we went back to the US for a month-long visit over the holidays. We couldn't have asked for a more competent and communicative home sitter. Chester took to him right away, and SolidSoul was super-conscientious, he sent detailed updates, and took great care of both Chester and our apartment. He was also genuniely interested in learning about our adopted home of Slovenia, and has a uniquely interesting background. He instilled a great amount of confidence in us to where we really didn't worry about our little guy or our apartment while we were away. We would gladly have him back for future stays.

The home is lovely and the owners set everything up like we were staying in a resort! Frankie, the cat, is adorable and affectionate. The area is perfect...close to the Las Vegas strip and, more importantly in our case, close to great hiking in the Nevada desert and canyons.

Tom and Laura were exceptional house sitters. Laura made communication between us effortless.  As a result,  we were very confident that our house and Frankie, the cat,  were well cared for.  In addition, they seemed to have had an enjoyable time exploring city and surrounding area.  Upon our return, the only hint that someone had been in our home was a happy cat and dinner in the frig. Our thanks to Laura and Tom for being such wonderful guests in our home.

Beautiful mountain hikes and views

What an amazing house sit in a beautifully remodeled home and two fun pups that loved to walk and adventure. Home is fully updated and was a joy to stay in for two weeks. Had gorgeous weather in the 50's so went for long hikes near daily on some stunning Boulder trails!. The two dogs are super healthy and a breeze to hangout with. The owner is a sweetheart and we communicated regularly which was great as I got regular tips on things to do in Boulder. ! I really enjoyed my 2 week getaway!!

Delightful month-long housesit in Ljubljana

Spacious, very well-equipped condo in Ljubljana, 1 km from scenic river area, 2 blocks from stores, cafes, 2 km from Tivoli park. 3 blocks from train and bus station, easy to take day trips. Quiet and comfortable. Great views of the city from the 11th floor window or balcony. Good internet for videoconferencing ....

Rory and Krista were very easy-going, and also well-prepared with clear instructions and information which were sent ahead of time. They included several pages of tourist suggestions. They purchased a bus pass for me and a Slovenian SIM card for my phone - and Rory walked me to and from the train station upon my arrival and departure.

Safe city, and much to see and do.

Chester was easy to take care of, enjoyed being petted, brushed and fed.

Flying in from the USA, I scheduled my arrival a day early, in case there had been any snow delay, and my departure for a day after they arrived for the same reason. I very much enjoyed my time with them over meals, hanging out, and the walking tour of the market places to buy things when I first arrived.

We thoroughly enjoyed our housesit with Molly in Erie, Colorado.  Rachel and her family live in a beautiful home in a quiet, safe neighbourhood within commuting distance of Boulder.

They gave us a thorough overview before leaving and kept in touch regularly during their time away. They are friendly, welcoming,  generous and kind.  I would highly recommend this family and well trained, friendly dog, Molly.  Count yourself fortunate if you  'win' a sit with them.,

Pauline and Kevin are the best house sitters! They took amazing care of our home and yard while we were gone for a month. We loved the intentionality they gave our fur baby, Molly, with regular trips to the dog park and local hikes. We even received pictures of Molly throughout our trip. We loved that we got to connect with them before we left. They are personable, honest, genuine and so kind. We traveled stress free knowing they were taking the amazing care of everything. Rick sat for us earlier this month.  He was a terrific house and  cat sitter.  Our cat Archie really seemed to like him (and vice versa).  And he left the house in terrific shape.  We hope he agrees to sit for Archie again.

Chris and Theresa took care of our home as if it was their own. We don't have any pets, but lots of plants that need watering, especially during the dry season in The Republic of Panama. The also did an exellent job of running our little AirBnB located behind our house. John and I both consider ourselves very lucky to have found them as we were in the U.S. for two months, yet via Whatsapp we were able to communicate quite well and they were always available. I would highly recommend them.

Christmas - New Year on the Gold Coast

Another Housesit this time at Reedy Creek on the Gold Coast, in a superb location just of the M1 Freeway.

It was a pleasure to look after Sean's house and his very shy cat Topaz and the goldfish as well as two golden orb spiders.

Sean travelled to the UK to have Christmas with his parents, family and many of his friends, and left his little family in our care.

Topaz was very shy for the first 3 days and was obviously fretting for Sean. However, once she got to accept us, particularly when her food bowl was filled with food, she thought these carer's aren't too bad after all.

A mouse catch at midnight, Geckos sneaked in throughout the day, standing in front of the television watching the cricket or tennis and smooching on the bed were all of Topaz's habits.  

She is a beautiful and very spoilt cat!

Sean generously permitted us to use his bed with the aircon, Fan and large TV, during the hot and humid weather.

We had a very enjoyable time at Reedy Creek.
