Kerry and Lionel are the easiest going pet sitters you will ever meet.  They are both kind, compassionate and very responsible. 

They arrived three days earlier than my departure date to get familiar with the routine and fur babies.  I liked them both immediately, needless to say so did my animals.

They kept in regular contact to let me know if there were any problems, however I was not worried at all as they are very capable of making decisions when necessary. 

They left the house spotless and did some odd jobs for me.  My animals were well cared for along with daily brushing for some and even a hair cut for the long haired dog.   I believe my furbabies missed them when they moved on. 

I would highly recommend Kerry and Lionel for any pet sit, they are truly fabulous. 

I miss them both, we became good friends and enjoyed good times and chats together. 

Do not hesitate to get them, if they become available, you definitely will not regret it.  I was extremely happy and stress free. 

Jackie was amazing

My elderly cat misses Jackie so much, she is now spending more time in the bedroom that Jackie slept. Probably waiting for her to return? Jackie made me a beautiful guilted table runner while she sewed her guilted blankets. She brought her sewing machine to keep busy while I was away for two weeks. 
My house was wonderfully clean and my plants were well taken care of too. I didn't worrry about a thing while I was away. I would highly recommend her and if she would house and cat sit again I would love it. Thanks Jackie

Best pet sit ever!

This was a fabulous pet sit.  Deb is someone you fall in love with as soon as you meet her.  She is a clear communicator…. no surprises.  She picked us up at the airport and brought us back to the airport at the end of our stay.    We arrived early to get familiar with the animals and their routines.  During this time she drove us around the island showing us where everything is and pointing out beaches to go to, restaurants that were inexpensive, etc. While we were there she allowed us use of her car.  We communicated frequently throughout our 2 month stay, and she was always available.

Oh, and the pets!  They were the best part of the stay.  There are 2 dogs that remain separated except on their morning walk together.  Pepper is a black Labrador- type dog.  He takes a while to be comfortable with you, but is super gentle and an all-around great dog.  I left my heart with Pepper.  Scrappy is a smaller long-haired dog.  Not really my type of dog, but she is hands down the coolest dog I have ever met.  She’s not a big barker, completely independent (as in she walks with you without a leash), loves pets and treats but is not clingy.  My husband left his heart with Scrappy.

There is also a cat named Puzzle who lives upstairs in the main house.  This cat made me laugh all day long.  She’s quite vocal and you always know what she wants, whether that is food or petting.  Downstairs there are 2 other cats. A female and a male, Sooty and Pinky, that are also friendly beautiful cats.  They get feeding and love time twice a day in their cat house.

Koh Samui is beautiful.  The pets you will not want to leave.  And Deb will remain a friend forever.  Do not hesitate to take this sit if it becomes available.

Would welcome back anytime!

We invited Philip to house and pet (and plant) sit for us early in 2024 for almost a month. We have had mixed experiences in the past with housesitters, but Philip was the absolute best we've had so far. All the communication went smoothly and from the first call we had a good feeling about him. He was friendly, enthusiastic, and very accommdodating. Organizing the housesitting was easy, even though Philip had to come all the way from the USA to the Netherlands.

Once here, the hand off went smoothly and we felt reassured leaving our dog Maxie in his care. We had daily updates, photos, and videos from Philip and one or two calls over the period as well. 

When we got back, everything was as we left it - and Maxie was in good spirits. It seemed he didn't miss us that much after all.
We are very grateful for Philip taking care of our home and dog and would welcome him back (and recommend him) anytime.

Excellent House Sitter!

Robert cared for our dogs and home while we were out of internet communication for a week.  There were some issues that required veterinary assistance and he managed them well - he kept his head during a high stress situation and cared for our dogs like they were his own.  He communicated well, was prompt and reliable.  We enjoyed getting to know him and look forward to using him again.

Wonderful first time housesitting experience

To say that it was a pleasure meeting, dining with, exchanging stories and working for Robert and Bridgette is a colossal understatement.

They are as sweet as they are genuine and made my first housesitting and pet sitting experience a most memorable one.

Robert had spent considerable time going over precisely what his expectations were and covered just about every contingency with specificity and great detail.

Getting acquainted with my 8 new best friends (Twiglet, Easy, Buffy, Bennett, Rio, Mitzy, Scarlet and Swagger) was a most profound joy.

After a very successful first three days, day four presented some very unique challenges that resulted in a momentary lapse of reason which had troubling consequences for me and especially one of the sweetest dogs I've ever seen. (Twiglet) But, having acted as quickly and professionally as I could prevented something much more dire.

Day 5 was one of the most challenging days I've ever experienced in any situation and it stretched my problem solving skills to the limits as I needed to use every resource I had to facilitate a safe transfer of Scarlet as she had been bitten by a rattlesnake during her yard time exercise.

I acted with a calm and deliberate and methodical approach to getting Scarlet the emergency care she needed as quickly as possible.  Again, using my heart as my guide to doing whatever was needed to be done to make sure that she received the best care she could have as quickly as possible.

Not being able to contact Robert or Bridgette was troubling, but I knew this upfront and I did what any animal lover would have done for their own pet. 

Though this experience was both frightening and challenging, it served to bring me and the animals closer together with an unmistakable bond that surpassed every conceivable challenge that came up.

I had to trust my insticts to do the right thing and treat all the animals as if they were my own.

Upon Robert's first call after reaching civilization, he received this bad news with the utmost of understanding and compassion both for me and most importantly for his precious dogs and he handled this difficult situation with pragmatic poise and graciousness, for which I was and am most grateful.

I would highly recommend anyone who loves animals, art and nature photography to eagerly accept the opportunity to work for this amazing couple and their most precious show winning champions who will all steal your heart with their boundless love and affection.

In October 2023, we did a dog/house sit for the Braboy's and Loki, their snuggly puppy. We were honored to be invited back to sit again this Spring!

Karen was very welcoming and down to earth. She opened her beautiful home to us and made us feel very comfortable. (From the high-end chef's kitchen to the spa shower, no amenity has been overlooked.) Loki was high-spirited, loving & adorable and enjoyed playing with our dog, Tanlo. They became two peas in a pod, enjoying car and buggy rides, hiking, and riding in the back of our bikes. Loki is up for fun and adventure!

We have grown a friendship with Karen and would definitely sit for Loki again. If you have the opportunity to do so, grab it!

Loved our Chula Vista housesit!

We enjoyed our housesit at Chula Vista.  Our houseowners gave us lots of tips on local information and events during our time there.  Before they left they showed us where to shop locally and what was nearby.

Their beautiful home and tropical gardens were a pleasure to look after and we enjoyed the hummingbirds visiting the feeders around the yard.

Throughout our stay we referred to the compendium which was full of helpful instructions, phone numbers and contacts for our use.

The homeowners could not have done more for us and it was a pleasure to housesit for them.

We were lucky to find Debra and Mark who stayed 3 weeks in our home in Amboise looking after our boy Leon, a 9 yo Boston Terrier. They are a very friendly couple who love animals. 

Debra kept in touch every day with photos and videos of Leon having fun.

I came back to a healthy and happy dog who was walked every day and got a lot of attention. 

The house was very clean. The bed was even remade and a delicious fresh soup was ready for me !  

The garden was also well taken care of. They mowed the lawn and even did some weeding for us. 

We can highly recommend Debra and Mark to anyone. Thank you Debra and Mark !

Ron and Judy are incredible. First of all, they did all the necessary things we asked them to do for the cat and the plants. No problem. Then they went WAY beyond...washed windows, cut grass, cleaned everything inside and out, left food, sent pictures. The house and garden were immaculate when we returned, and the cat was totally chill. I almost feel guilty. 

I don't want to in any way to diminish all their hard work. But what I would want anyone to know who might consider Ron and Judy for a sit is that they are genuine and generous people. It was an honor for us to spend a little time with them before we left. I knew things would go well after spending about 5 minutes with them. I just hope I can get them to come back next April!

Barbara and Bill have two affectionate, playful cats who were a joy to care for. I spent a month in their former Strathcona Park home in September, 2019, and was delighted when they asked me back in September and October, 2022. Their current home is spacious and light, and overlooks a ravine--the view is spectacular, with local deer and even moose occasionally sauntering close to the house. 

As loving cat parents, I give them the highest possible rating. Barbara and Bill are kind and generous, making sure my stay was comfortable and I was not lacking in any creature comforts. I felt 150% appreciated for my care giving, and would house sit for them again in a heartbeat, time and distance permitting!

A Well-Trusted House and Cat Sitter

We had such a positive experience with Helen, taking care of our house and our 2 beautiful cats back in the fall of 2019 for 1 month, that we were thrilled to be able to get her back for 2 months in the fall of 2022.  Just like our previous experience with Helen, we arrived home to happy, healthy, well-brushed cats and a clean and tidy home. Helen kept us updated throughout our trip and sent us lots  of pictures of our kitties. We never worried about our pets while we were away, as we knew they were in good hands. We wouldn't hesitate to have her back!

A wonderful stay in the Loire Valley

We were delighted to be invited to house sit in Amboise by Caroline and Brent, our warm and friendly hosts.

Their 'boy' Leon has an adorable personality. We shared a big walk each morning, and then we would dash out for a visit to a nearby chateau (there are so many wonderful places), or have lunch in a local  restaurant  or take a drive to a nearby village (with Leon) for a country walk.

We would always have a late afternoon walk around the local vineyards and then play ball in the backyard. Needless to say, Leon was happy to snore his way through the evening on the couch with us.

We almost considered dog napping Leon at the end of our assignment.

Caroline, Brent, Leon and Amboise will always represent happy memories for us.

We thank them for trusting us to care for Leon and their lovely home.

Wonderful housesit in Nanaimo!

Staying at Darlene's house with her girl cat for two weeks was a total delight.  The house has an amazing view of Departure Bay which also means wonderful sunrises.  Kitty and I would listen to the birds and enjoy the view in the mornings.  She is not a lap sitter but is quite loving and really loves getting combed.  And quite a talker!  I miss our conversations.

Darlene and I hit it off as soon as I answered her ad. We both love adventures and each of us got a great vacation out of the exchange.  I only hope I left the house as immaculate as she had it when I arrived. Nanaimo is a wonderful place and jumping off spot for exploring Vancouver Island. 

Afternoons I visited local parks or worked on sewing projects at home.  The house is a modern spacious open plan with lots of plants and all the amenities including wifi, TV, laundry, etc.

I would gladly visit Darlene and stay with her kitty again and again!

Magical time with a menagerie of pets

Wonderful time at the lovely home of CrescentHousesit!  Highly recommend!

A menagerie of pets (older dog on medication; cat; horse; chickens; ducks; fish; frog) were all interesting and well-behaved.  I was provided with a well-organized and detailed list of care/feeding instructions; as well as being invited to arrive a day early to be introduced to the pets and experience their routine.  That was very thoughtful and accommodating of CrescentHousesit and her family.  CrescentHousesit and her family, and pets, were so nice they made me feel like a family member!   I am glad I played a part in letting them escape to Disneyland for a much needed break.

The Crescent City, California, area was awesome.  Breathtaking spacious uncrowded beaches to stroll on, and magnificent redwood trees to admire.  Magical location to house sit.  I look forward to another opportunity to housesit for CrescentHousesit.

Two sweet dogs , lovely owner and beautiful home

   We had a fun time with Rudy and Abby, such great dogs , Abby will  show you  constantly how much younger and active she is than Rudy . Walking them on a regular basis was easy as they are well trained and neighbourhood makes for a very interesting outing.  

  Elvas daughter was available to take the dogs if we needed more time away which was a real bonus ,such a lovely girl. 

  We so much enjoyed the pool area with a variety of comfortable sitting areas to watch Abby try to rescue her ball from the pool after she bouncies it in , Rudy by our side enjoying our company.

 Elva was very thorough showing us around, inside and  outside,  left us  well detailed notes on contact #'s and where to shop . She very generously left gift cards for the local market and her favorite restaurant,  plus the Boyce Arboretum,  which is a very interesting and relaxing outing.

A Hidden Santa Fe Gem

This was our first house/pet sit and it couldn't have gone any better. Mike, Kelly, and their son Luke were the most loving and welcoming family! We cared for their three horses, two dogs, and two cats on a beautiful and vast property outside of Santa Fe. We all bonded deeply with the animals (especially our little daughter). They provided clear and detailed instructions which in return made feeding and caring easy. Each pet was a joy to spend time with and we're missing them already. Having such a large property we could hike daily from their backyard up into the mountains with the dogs. Their house was well-equipped and beautiful! Mike and Kelly were always just a text away if we needed anything and promptly responded. They went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed having more time with them and getting to know them better. I felt we arrived as housesitters and left as new friends. We're hoping to return and housesit for them again this summer if the stars align. That said if you're lucky enough to get the chance to house/pet sit for this family - you're in for a real treat! I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Grand Junction is a wonderful place to visit and Sandy is a wonderful homeowner to house/pet sit for! 

Dewy, a large black male cat was immediately friendly, though very independant, and easy to become friends with. Cecil, a female Tortose cat took a while to warm up to but eventually would even sit in my lap for short periods. Both have oppisite personalities and was fun to play with and just watch as they meandered around the house. Cecil requires a prescription of cream rubbed into her ears and sometimes hard to get it done morning and night but gets easier after she gets used to a sitter.

The house is warm and comfortable to live in and filled with beautiful paintings her husband painted. In a nice neighborhood and easy to run out to shopping. The town is easy to get around in and has anything you could need while there. Also, there are many places to explore in the area. Sking, 40 miles away at the Powderhorn resort, if you are a skier.

I recommend this house/pet sit in Grand Junction!

We have had many housesitters over the years, and Gwen and Ben are among the very best of them. They stayed at our place in New Mexico for two weeks, taking care of two dogs, two cats, and three horses. The animals were clearly well loved and cared for. The house was in great shape when we returned – and, since we got back late in the evening, Gwen had even prepared food for our arrival. They were excellent communicators both before and during the sit – they are totally honest and very kind people who were able to smoothly handle everything that our somewhat complicated house/pet sit required. Also, their young daughter, Eldyn, is a gem of a kid – very engaged with the animals, but also very gentle with them, and really just a true pleasure to be around. Since they stayed with us the night before and the night after the housesit, we got to know them better than if we’d just handed them the housekeys, and we can wholeheartedly recommend them as house and pet sitters. Really, there’s not a single complaint we can think of. We’re already hoping they’ll come back when we go away for 10 days during the summer.

John and Leah were very kind and welcomed me into their cozy home a few days early for this sit. They cooked several delicious meals, making sure there were lots of leftovers! The two kitties, Akira and Ashima were well behaved and sweet, and although shy, they slowly started to warm up and even kept me company while curling up on the couch, allowing me to occasionally pet them. 

I enjoyed the peace and quiet of their neighbourhood and spent many hours relaxing in their large screened in porch, reading and being entertained by the antics of the kitties. Communication was easy and I appreciated knowing that they could be counted on to respond to any questions I had during my stay. I especially appreciated the lift to the airport. Thanks again for your hospitality John and Leah!

Valerie cared for my pet and my home for two weeks. Valerie is a wonderful sitter; she gave excellent, attentive and careful care to my older feline companion. Valerie and I communicated several times prior to her arrival. I was immediately impressed with her warmth, intelligence and communication skills. During out conversations she asked pertinent questions that assured me that she would be a superb sitter. Valerie arrived a couple days early in order to become acquainted with my kitty and her routines, as well as to learn about the workings of my condo. I was most appreciative of her willingness to do this. I have detailed instructions related to all things concerning my pet and my home. Valerie carefully went over the instructions, asking for clarification where necessary.
Valerie regularly sent me updates and photos, which reassured me that all was well. I felt completely at ease with Valerie being with my pet and in my home. Valerie took excellent care of my condo and my kitty. Valerie is kind, bright, completely trustworthy, an animal lover and conscientious. I am happy that I was able to meet and interact with her. I highly recommend Valerie as a pet/house sitter. I will be very happy if she is able to care for my pet and home again.
