We had such great 2 months in Playa Coronado while housesitting for Karin and John!

Karin and John gave us a wonderful welcome! They picked us up from the bus stop and had a lunch ready when we arrived after a long flight. It takes just 2 hours by local bus from Panama City to Playa Coronado. Thanks to Karin and John, we found a connection to the expat community very quickly. They showed us around the area, where we can shop, find other things and access the beach.

Their house is so well equipped with everything you could wish for. WiFi, AC, fully equipped kitchen, use of the car (thank you so much Karin & John), and everything worked perfectly.

They have a gardener and a cleaning lady who came regularly over which helped us a lot in everyday life in the tropics. Especially since we took over the management of the Casita (holiday let) behind the main house, it was a wonderful gift that Karin and John provided a cleaning lady to support us. Even if something unplanned happened, Karin and John were always available and helped competently via chat and phone calls.

We do recommend this housesit to anyone who wants to spend a great time in a local beach area of Panama and meet inspiring people in Playa Coronado.

Nice house, nice dog

This was a really enjoyable, relaxed house sit in Bentley near Doncaster. It's a cozy two bedroom row house, recently renovated and immaculately clean. It's not a tourist area, but it is on the Trans-Pennine Trail and there's lots of walking opportunities. The railway is only 5 mins from the house, and it's an easy commute to Leeds and York, which are both well worth a visit. 
Carly was great to deal with. She was organized and prompt in her replies to our questions and is a lovely lady, who picked us up at the station and made us dinner on our first night. 
Monty is a sweet little character. He was no problem to take care of. He walks well on leash, and is a cuddly, quiet dog at home. He definitely knows when his meal times should be, and likes his routines, but Carly made sure we knew how to keep him happy.

Housesitting for Jacline, David and amazing daughter Grace over the New Year was surely one of our very best times as HCers.

They are kind and warm people and made us feel most comfortable. From the moment of our arrival,  they (including their three wonderful Bichons) treated us like family.  

Their home and surroundings are quiet, private and beautiful. The views from every window are like looking at English paintings.

David's gardens are breathtaking even in this, their quietest time of year. He showed us around the local area for the best dining and shopping before they left on their trip. Jacline & Grace provided clear house instructions, tips about doggie care and pertinent area information and sightseeing suggestions.

From the first moment of meeting them, taking care of their Bichon babies was like reliving a love affair. I, too, had Bichons decades ago and these rescued guys are just as adorable individualistic characters as my boys in the '80s-'90s.

We happily spent most of our time ensconced with the boys in the great room. :) Their home and outdoor area is a magnificent escape, yet so much; the beach, the mountains, vineyards, everything that is SoCal, is so close. 

 It would be an honor and a pleasure to sit for them again!

Superb caring housesitters

Denise and Ian are caring and reliable housesitters and I whole heartily recommend them.

Whilst I visited family and friends overseas for 4 weeks, Ian and Denise house sat and cared my 13 year old cat, Topaz. Topaz does not cope being taken out of her familiar environment, so it was vital I found the ideal people to care for Topqz.

Ian and Denise were the perfect match to care for Topaz. Topaz was their priority whilst they enjoyed the Gold Coast, including visiting golf courses and charirty shops.   

Ian and Denise went above and beyond fussing, loving and spoiling Topaz and maintaining my property. They sent regular updates and pictures of Topaz and my home. Ian and Denise also lovingly  maintained and cared for my house. 

Topaz and I highly recommend Ian and Denise to care for your furr babies and property whilst you enjoy your time away.

We got to meet Elya and Jon during an online interview and KNEW we would enjoy doing this, our very first house and cat care assignment for them.  And we did!  They were so welcoming and organized.  Their cats, Luka and Phoebe were sweet, and frankly very easy to care for.  Their spacious and pristinely-kept home was in a great location, right on the water of the Channel Islands Marina.  We walked to restaurants and shops, rode our bikes to the beaches, enjoyed pickleball in a nearby park, and strolled along the waterways.  The guest suite was perfect, right on the main floor of their home.  They allowed us access to their high-speed, reliable internet service.  The bedroom had a very comfortable bed and lots of closet and drawer space for our things.  We were truly able to move in and feel right at home.  Even their neighbors were friendly and kind.  Yep, we would happily return to this delightful place with the two darling cats!

Devetta and Ralph looked after Buttercup while we were away for several weeks. It was our first pet sit, but they were organized, thought ahead about some of the details, offered us a list of references to check so we would feel comfortable, and were overall very easy and nice to work with. They took great care of our house and gardens, and especially Buttercup, sending lots of pictures, so we knew she was happy.

Karen is the best!

Karen stayed at our home and watched our dog Jacob (10 years) for about a week and half. She was very communicative and easy to organize the stay with. She arrived on time and the handoff was very easy and smooth. She took excellent care of our boy and the house while she was here - staying in regular contact with us. She left the place spotless and Jacob seemed very sad to see her go! She was the best! We would have her stay again in a heartbeat and highly recommend her for any house sits.

After interviewing several potential housesitters on zoom, my husband and I both agreed on Jeff and Nicole, even though it was their first house sit. They asked about our cats first off and wanted to see them and were very curious about their habits and preferences. We could tell from how they talked about their previous cat that they were cat lovers. They were great about sending us photo updates about our kitties. Our cats both looked well cared for when we returned and our home was in immaculate condition; Jeff even fixed the timer on our porch light! We would definitely recommend them and look forward to having them stay again in the future.

As soon as we met Doug and Charr, we felt like it was meeting old friends again. They came a day before our departure, and carefully went through the instructions we prepared, and they got to know our doggies and their personalities. As they have had their own dogs in the past, they immediately were comfortable with them (we have 3 bichons). While we were gone, they sent updates, a few pictures, and we appreciated how responsive they were from the very first contact.  Both are lovely, gentle, and thoughtful people and we hope they will come back and sit for our doggies again in the not-too-distant future. They are everything one hopes to find in house/dog sitter; we had so much peace of mind while we were away. Our house was spotless when we returned, the dogs were settled and happy and all in all, it was a great experience.  We feel like we have made new friends, though we are a couple of states apart, and look forward to seeing them again.

Dale and George exceeded my expectations ten-fold! They were brilliant with my senior dog and knew exacatly how to care for him (they are very expereinced dog people!). They continued his routine and took great care with his diet and his walks. He was very happy and relaxed when I returned home. He is still looking around the house for Dale and George as I type!

Dale and George also took great care of my house and I returned to a clean house and fresh laundry. I really appreciated this as i had to work the next day. They also cooked me a lovely meal on my return which was very welcome indeed. They left me some groceries too which was really welcome. 

I would highly recommend Dale and George for any house-sit, especially if you have dogs. They were truly invested in looking after my old boy and I got regular updates on his progress via Whatsap. I honestly didn't need to worry about a single thing while I was away. Your house and dogs would defintiely be in safe hands with Dale and George.   

A lovely time with Luna in Chapel en le Frith

We spent 3 weeks over Christmas 2023 looking after Ingrid's beautiful cat , Luna. 

Ingrid was so welcoming and made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Luna was a delightful cat who loved attention and cuddles. 

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Chapel en le Frith. There were lots of good walks from the house and good places to visit, Chatsworth, Buxton, Blue John Cavern.

We would thoroughly recommend the housesit with Ingrid and Luna.

Wonderful stay

Lovely home in the country with 4 adorable kitties, 2 older and two younger so very entertaining.   Owners were wonderful, had a few issues that came up and they were very responsive from afar. Wake up to deer in the yard so sweet. Lovely area literally 5 minutes from the train station if you wanted to venture into the city for an afternoon. Shopping is close by and there are Great places to walk.  Home has a lovely view from almost every window of its natural surroundings. If you like to watch the stars you can from inside the house they have a lovely atrium can see the moon and the stars so nice on a cold night along with a fireplace. Very comfy and they have house cleaners that come every two weeks so nice. I very much enjoyed my Christmas stay! 

Marie could not have been better!!!!

All of our communication prior to Marie coming to care for our 4 cats  were easy and positive. My expectations were high. She came on time and immediately made us feel comfortable leaving her in our home and with our cats. In the space of 3 days, our washing machine broke, the heat didn't work in the house, the coffee machine broke and one of the kittens got sick. She took each and every problem in her stride, helped us deal with each issue, gave the kitten meds and dealt with a very sick kitty without a word of complaint.  I absolutely cannot recommend Marie enough. She left the house perfectly clean and neat. She is, by far, the best cat sitter we have ever had. 

Above and beyond

Sarah and Gregory went above and beyond to organize their travel to San Francisco, respond to my requests/questions, and take care of my kitty for the month they stayed at my place.

They made their travel plans to arrive in advance of the start of the housesit so we could meet and do a walkthrough of my place before I left. In addition, they stayed a couple of days afterwards in case there were any delays in my travel (which there were, because I had communicated the incorrect date that I'd return!). This was smart and thoughtful on their part.

They communicated with me while I was away and sent photos of my cat which I really appreciated (I could tell she was a happy camper!). In addition, I loved that they truly enjoyed their time in San Francisco.  My place was neat and clean when I returned and my cat was happy. Perfect!

I couldn't be happier with my cat sitters Helen and Andrew. They are an experienced couple having looked after properties and animals in France, Italy and the UK. I felt an instant connection and trust and knew my home and cat Luna would be in safe hands. I received little reports and it was obvious Luna was happy and settled and running the show as usual! I came back to a spotless house and a very calm and well fed cat. I was also pleased to know H&A had been able to explore the Peak District and been out and about inspite of the dismal wet eather. Top endorsement to this lovely couple, 10/10!

Perfect and trustworthy cat and housesitters

Rebecca and Gian were the perfect cats and house sitters. 
We had a comforting feeling of trust from the first videocall and troughout the whole time we were away.
Communication with them was always quick and easy and the preparation went smooth.
Leaving your house and your pets to Rebecca and Gian is leaving them to charming and educated friends.
Our cats, who are rather shy, were comfortable with them almost immediately.
Rebecca and Gian worked full time but still cared perfectly for our cats, our garden and the house.
They kept us up to date regularly about everything and sent lots of pictures of the cats. 
When we came home, everything was in perfect condition and they even surprised us with a delicious italian dish including tiramisu for desert. 
We 100 % recommend them as house and pet sitters.  And we would do it again anytime.

Ziggy awesome, Rob + Sue strategic welcoming

We quickly came to love Rob & Sue's blue heeler Ziggy. You would have to be there or at least see videos to understand the bond we developed with Ziggy,  and we can also say with confidence that Rob, Sue, their two daughters, are 'good people', welcoming. O uh r first get to know then was an awesome hike in the nearby hills accompanied by a refreshing swim. We went through Cyclone Jasper and later flooding, taking a lot of extra precautions to protect out Ron + Sue's property, including constructing a mini hotel for Ziggy with us in the 'safe zone', overcoming several power outages. We took care of their salt pool, lawns, plants, and anything needing maintenance. If the reader is considering helping Rob and Sue, either in Cairns or elsewhere,  we can vouch for them, go ahead and help them, and their children, we believe, like our sentiments,  it will be a positive experience!

Candace is the best!

Candace is a fabulous house and catsitter! She is very capable at navigating new places and taking on responsibility. We overlapped with Candace for one day as we prepared for our trip and it was really wonderful getting to know her. She has a true traveler's spirit and nothing is daunting for her! She took great care of my garden and cat and home. I would highly recommend having Candace as a housecarer - she is a true gem!

Bobbie is a kind and considerate house sitter.

Bobbie housesat for us over the winter holidays in December 2023 - January 2024. She took wonderful care of our cat and our home. She is very kind and considerate in everything that she says and does. She is an excellent communicator and asks the right questions to ensure that she is doing everything I have asked. We overlapped for a few days at the beginning of her stay which allowed us all to get to know each other and for her to become accustomed to the workings of the house. This was a great opportunity for us all to meet a new, wonderful person in the world! During this time Bobbie was very quiet and respectful of our space and time as we were preparing for our trip. 

I felt very comfortable leaving my home and cat in Bobbie's care. I left her with detailed instructions for all things related to home and cat care. I highly recommend having Bobbie as a housecarer!

Alyssa housesat for us from 6 October to 26 December 2023 while we were overseas.  

We own a beachhouse on the ocean and would not allow just anyone to housesit for us.  We were comfortable with Alyssa to look after our home and our cats and our feelings were proven correct.

She looked after our home and yard like it was her own and we were very happy with the results.  Our home was spotless when we arrived home and the gardens and grass were regularly watered and even the weeds were removed.  

She also cared for our precious cats and ensured we were updated on how they were.  

We would not hesitate in having her housesit for us again and would  recommend Alyssa for any housesits she applies for.

Holly and her sons were welcoming and very flexible in terms of allowing me to come a few days early. And, Wonder, the cat, was not your typical cat. He was incredibly friendly and social.

I had a very peaceful stay in their 200 year old church...it was a great 1st housesit experience for me.

This is a fantastic sit with very organised and kind homeowners.  They left very clear instructions, had someone come to mow the lawns and once a month check on the pool. They were kind in picking up from the airport and loaning their car, as the location is somewhat difficult with public transport. The cats are wonderful too, including the additonal rescue kitty Peekaboo who arrived during my stay. Gia and Merlin were super affectionate and fun, each with their quirks and liked pets and cuddles. Would highly recommend this sit.

I had the absolute pleasure of having this wonderful couple cat and house sit for me, and I couldn't be happier with their care and attention to detail. From the moment Kerry and Richard arrived, it was evident that they were warm, caring individuals who adored cats. Their communication was top-notch, keeping me updated regularly and sending pictures and videos.

But what truly stood out was the genuine affection they showed towards my bengal cat companion. It was a joy to witness how much they loved my cat, and it was mutual—the cat took to them immediately (I think I had a moment of jealousy LOL). They respected my cat's routines and quirks, ensuring that his royal lifestyle remained uninterrupted. It was evident that they understood his preferences and catered to his every need including lots of playtime and belly rubs.

Aside from their love for animals, they were exceptionally clean and organized, leaving my home spotless upon my return. I cannot recommend them enough—they are the perfect choice for anyone seeking caring, responsible, and cat-loving sitters who will ensure your furry friend's happiness, well-being and safety while you're away.

Benevolent hosts. We had an easy experience negotiating and during the housesit period. Communication was really good! And Charlie is such a beautiful companion! (The senior sweet dog I was taking care of). I enjoyed my cuddles with him.

Lovely home, access to main avenues and public transportation, to cafes and supermarkets. Quiet neighborhood.

Alec and Heather answered our ad, and were great communicators from day one.  They understood perfectly what we were after and gave us some inside in their background and lifestyle by talking to us via video chat, and by showing us their house and surrounds.  

They were constantly in touch with us to keep us up to date with what was going on in the garden and weatherwise.  They were pro-active in looking after everything.  They even found some extra jobs to finish around the house and garden! What treasures they were!

And of course, upon our return, the garden was flourishing, the house spic & span and my car as shiny as when I left it.

In short: we can highly recommended them.  Lovely people who could easily become good friends, and we would not hesitate to ask them again would the need arise. However, taking into acount the distance between us I don't expect to ever be lucky enough to see them back in Australia. One can only live in hope... ;-)

I am new to housecarers and I absolutely hit the jackpot with Barb and Jim.

Extremely conscientious, great communicators, super process, caring and just absolutely fabulous! They went above and beyond to make sure they had detailed information (they have an intake form!) to tackle whatever may have come up during their stay. The love and care of my cat Mookie-Bleu was first and foremost. 

I had a bit of a change to my schedule and they were flexible and understanding. They sent pictures while I was away which was greatly appreciated and timely updates. Barb and Jim cared for my home as if it were their's and provided input on items for me to look at. They left my home spotless - absolutely clean and all in order. Mookie-Bleu was content which was beyond priceless for me.

Would recommend them to anyone wanting quality care of pet and home. Thank you Barb and Jim for making this such a positive experience - you've spoiled me!!
